Heartstopper had my heart beating ;)

Babes I loved Heartstopper, ok? Here’s why:

  1. Cute animations — those little butterflies and hearts and leaves had my heart fluttering. Haters will say that it supplements good dialogue but I say it is cute and fun. When those leaves swirl around Nick and Charlie I swooned. It was disgusting and made me want to vomit but god was it cute.
  2. Pacing — I watched Heartstopper on a Friday afternoon after taking an exam. This means that I was 5 glasses of wine in. Any show that can hold my focus after 5 glasses of wine has good pacing. It is quick and moves enough per episode that you won’t get bored.
  3. The Easy Stuff Was Done Well — “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” — Bruce Lee. When Charlie’s angry in an episode, they move the camera to suggest his anticipation, when he’s in love, the camera work is smooth and flows, when he’s fearful it’s close to his face. The roots from the art room’s floor grow out of the corner Charlie always sits in. Any tricks the production uses are old, but it’s clear they’ve mastered them.
  4. Young Actors —I’m sorry but there are TOO many old ass actors playing young children. It’s literally time to stop. *Cough cough Ben Platt* These actors looked plausibly like they’d be in high school. Maybe it’s just the…
